parable of life

Imam Al Ghazali gives us an amazing parable. The parable of a man who walks through the forest, and as he is walking, he is calm. suddenly a lion jumps and starts chasing him. so he runs and runs as fast as he could. then he sees a well in front of him, and he jumps into it and grabs onto a rope and he is in safety.
But then he notices a snake beneath him that just wants to bite him. And the mean becomes very scared now. The snake is down and the lion is up. So what can he do? Slowly he sees two mice coming in, one black and one white. the mice starts chewing the rope. Now he really is frightened, and in this spare, he notices on the wall a honey comb. sweet honey! So the man dips his finger into it and starts eating from it. Suddenly he forgets about the lion, snake and mice.
Imam Ghazali says this is the parable of life!
The lion is death chasing us, it can jump up from anytime anywhere. We are not sure when it will hit us.
The rope the man was holding onto was his life.
The snake beneath him is the grave that is waiting for man.
And the two mice, the black and white mice, the black one is a night, and the white one is the day. this is eating out our daily lives. day/night night/day , time passes and death is certain.
And the honeycomb is the distractions that are all around us. sometimes to some extent that it can take us away from remembering that death is certain.
Let's all remember Allah and Death at all times, Ameen

So, this is a little story which inspired me and thought i would share it! :o)
